What you can raise

  • privacy and personal data requests or complaints under the DPDP Act;
  • content on a listing or in a message that is unlawful or violates our Terms (IT Rules, 2021);
  • issues with a plan payment, a booking, or a refund recorded on RoomHive (Consumer Protection Act, 2019);
  • account access or security concerns.

How to raise it

Email the Grievance Officer with your name, the email or phone on your account, what happened, the hostel or listing involved and any screenshots or references. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on account data.

Our timelines

  • Acknowledgement within 24 hours, with a reference number.
  • Resolution within 15 days of receipt, and in any case within one month.
  • Content involving sexual material, impersonation or a person's private parts is acted on within 24 hours of a complaint.
  • Data-protection grievances are resolved within the time set under the DPDP Rules — at the latest 90 days.

If you are not satisfied

You may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee under the IT Rules, 2021, complain to the Data Protection Board of India about personal data, or approach the National Consumer Helpline (1915) or a consumer commission.
